Get to Know Me
My name is Vi and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I got my Bachelor Degree in Psychology and Social Behaviors at UCI and graduated from Chapman University with a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families, including multiple years of experience working with children. I am also familiar with working in multidisciplinary settings that emphasize collaborative care. My clients range from those struggling with depression, anxiety, mood disturbances, life transitions, low self-esteem, identity crises, grief and loss, children of divorced parents, and trauma, to those seeking support for their children.
As a second-generation Vietnamese American, I am culturally competent and incorporate cultural lenses into my therapy approach. I am particularly passionate about working with the Asian American population.
My therapeutic approach primarily focuses on Emotion-Focused Therapy, but I also value incorporating other therapy approaches to find what works best for each client. In my opinion, the most crucial factor for successful and meaningful therapy is building a strong therapeutic connection. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and can be their authentic selves. I also believe in the importance of the body-mind connection and often incorporate mindfulness practices into my approach.
In my personal life, I am a devoted dog mom and enjoy various activities such as music, cooking, playing League of Legends, coloring, outdoor activities, and spending time at the beach. I also have a soft spot for cute little things
